Healed in the Hardest Season: Finding Peace After Losing Everything

"Losing my mom and grandmother shook my world—but....

Hi friend,

Have you ever felt so low that getting back up seemed impossible?

That’s exactly what I went through. I hit rock bottom emotionally and mentally after losing two of the most important people in my life—my grandmother and my mother. Their deaths came just two days apart. It was a pain I never saw coming.

But through it all, something beautiful happened: God showed me He was still with me. And that made all the difference.

April 2024 – The Month My Life Changed Forever

It was my first year at university. I was still adjusting to the big shift from high school to university life.

Then, in the middle of the semester, my world turned upside down.
I lost both my grandmother and my mother—within two days.
I had to travel between Fiji and Vanuatu to bury them. The grief was overwhelming.

When I returned to school, I wasn’t the same.
I couldn’t focus. I couldn’t sleep.
I didn’t study. I was mentally and emotionally drained.

As exams approached, I realized I hadn’t prepared at all. I felt helpless.
That’s when I turned to God.
I prayed for wisdom, strength, and peace.
I told Him, “Lord, I can’t do this on my own.”

And God came through for me.

I sat for my exams—and by God’s grace, I passed every single one.

Despite the pain, the confusion, and the sleepless nights, God carried me through. That moment marked a turning point in my life. I started placing my full trust in Him from that day forward.

Bible Verses That Carried Me Through

These are the verses that gave me hope, strength, and comfort during my darkest time:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
→ Even when everything feels uncertain, faith keeps us moving forward.

  • 1 Peter 5:7
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
→ God doesn’t want us to carry our burdens alone. He invites us to give them to Him.

  • Matthew 6:25–27
“Do not worry about your life… Look at the birds of the air… Are you not much more valuable than they?”
→ Jesus reminds us that we matter to God, and He will take care of us.

  • Philippians 4:6–7

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything… Then you will experience              God’s peace.”

→ When we turn to God in prayer, His peace quiets our fears.

If You’re Struggling Too…

Maybe you’re also going through something difficult right now—grief, anxiety, pressure from school, or just feeling lost.

Here’s what I want you to know:

You are not alone. God is with you.

He sees your pain. He hears your prayers. And He is more than able to carry you through.

If He helped me through the darkest season of my life, He can help you too.

So don’t give up. Keep going. Keep trusting.

God is still writing your story.

My prayer is that this testimony encourages your heart and reminds you of how deeply loved and valued you are by God.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
